Ethena says Ethena Pay is live on iOS: hold USDe, spend it, in 48 countries. The same note keeps the EU, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Canada and the United States out. That is the piece. A synthetic dollar with a card story, and a map that excludes the rooms where MiCA and the SEC actually sit.

USDe is not USDC. It is a stablecoin with a different engine: delta-neutral, funding, a peg that has to be made, not just reserved in T-bills. A payments app does not erase that engine. If funding flips, the product’s job gets harder. We do not have a depeg in this sitting. We have a map.

Eligible, not eligible

Ethena’s own list is the source. If your country is in the EU, you are not in the 48. Do not use a VPN as a product strategy. That is how accounts die, and how support will not help.

A French reader who wants a spendable euro still has MiCA-authorised issuers, not this app. Ethena remains a trading product for those who already understand the basis.

48 countries. Not France. Not the US. A live app is not a universal app.The newsroom

What is held, what is not

  • Held: iOS launch, USDe in-app, 48-country map, EU/UK/CH/CA/US excluded as of the issuer note.
  • Not held: MiCA approval. A European rollout date. That USDe “is cash”. A buy on ENA.

Read the map before the landing page. If your flag is missing, the product is not for you this week.
