10 September. Bitwise is closing its Dogecoin ETF, ticker BWOW. Less than a year after launch. Last day of trading in New York: 14 October. Those who keep their shares will get cash on 22 October, at the 21st’s price. Nothing to do. Bitwise: optimize the range, “evolving investor needs.”
On day one, about $3 million of trading, The Block writes. Since then, nowhere near that. A Dogecoin ETF is not Dogecoin in the wallet. It is a listed product. The closure does not say Dogecoin disappears. It says this product did not find enough buyers.
What 10 September holds
- Held. Bitwise / SEC release, 10 Sept. BWOW liquidates. Last session 14 Oct. Cash on the 22nd. Nobody is forced to sell before.
- Not held. That Dogecoin collapses over this. Advice to sell or buy DOGE.
