10 September. Coinbase is partnering with Moov to offer stablecoin payments to more than 1,000 U.S. community banks and credit unions. This is not a new app: Coinbase’s API and custody sit inside the systems those institutions already run, for acceptance, settlement and real-time funding.
Modern tech should meet local institutions where they are.— Ryan VanGrack, Coinbase, 10 September 2026
CNBC places the announcement just before a Senate vote on the CLARITY Act. Wade Arnold, Moov’s chief, says merchants at those banks are already being asked to take stablecoins, and they go elsewhere. The offer is meant to keep that at their bank. Moov’s network has more than 1,000 institutions; that does not mean all 1,000 are live. Fees are not in the announcement. We had MoneyGram on the card side. Here it is the local counter.
